Mountain Craftsman

Though the design process for this rustic mountain retreat was anything but linear, the result is a cozy home with a big impact.

Originally conceived as a sales center for the Town Mountain Preserves development, during the design phase this project morphed into a custom spec home for a local developer.  The project had to meet specific HOA requirements on a small site while also adhering to steep slope, ridgeline and watershed restrictions from the county.

The developer wanted a small home that incorporated both Rustic and Craftsman styles with a modern touch. It is a 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath house that takes advantage of the sloping site to capture winter views of the mountains.  We faced a complex collection of restraints but the result is a cozy, light-filled home that sold before it was completed.
